City of Joburg wants State of Disaster declared following floods

A State of Disaster in Johannesburg. That’s if Joburg Mayor Mpho Phalatse gets her way.

Sixteen people have been killed while many others have been left destitute in floods that have lashed the area recently.

Phalatse revealed the financial toll is estimated at R300 million.

With more storms forecast, things could change quickly.
