President Cyril Ramaphosa together with the Coronavirus National Command council will be meeting Premiers and religious leaders to discuss the escalating number of COVID-19 cases.
There have been mixed reactions on whether the country should once again go back to hard lockdown.
South Africa recorded 21,606 new infections in the last 24 hours. The overall total of cases recorded in the country is now at 1.2 million.
