Eskom says it will suspend stage 1 load-shedding at 11 pm on Saturday but will resume power cuts at 7am on Sunday. The power utility downgraded load-shedding from stage 2 to stage 1.
Eskom says Koeberg Unit 1 has been safely synchronised onto the grid, and that’s helping to ease the scale of load-shedding.
Eskom says it’s making progress in restoring emergency reserves to meet demand for the coming week. People are urged to continue using electricity sparingly.
