Specialist Medical Receptionist
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve patients by greeting and helping them, scheduling appointments, and maintaining records and accounts.
- Assistant with medical aid authorisations.
- Billing, quoting, invoicing, create estimates, statements, medical aid enquiries, month ends etc using Elixir Live.
- Welcome patients and visitors in person or on the telephone, and answer or refer inquiries.
- Optimise patients satisfaction, provider time and treatment room utilization by scheduling appointments in person or by telephone.
- Keep patient appointments on schedule by managing the diary, follow ups, optimising surgeons time.
- Dictation and typing of letters accurately.
- Management of the theatre bookings.
- Put patients at ease by anticipating anxieties, answering questions and maintaining the reception area.
- Ensure treatment rooms are changed and clean for turnover of patients.
- Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording and uploading personal and financial information using Goodnotes.
- Obtain revenue by recording and updating financial information, recording and collecting patient charges, controlling credit extended to patients, filing, collecting and expediting third-party claims.
- Maintain business office inventory and equipment by checking stock, anticipate supplies, placing and expedite orders from suppliers, verify receipt of supplies and schedule equipment service and repairs.
- Help patients in distress by responding to emergencies via email or telephone.
- Maintain operations by following policies and procedures, reporting needed changes.
- Making the doctor coffee and making sure essentials are stocked such as coffees, milk, etc.
- Remuneration: R10 000 per month
Time: 07:30 to 17:00 – Monday to Friday
