Patient assaults Soweto doctor

A female doctor has been assaulted by a patient at the Lillian Ngoyi Community Clinic in Soweto.

This comes after two doctors were stabbed by a patient in Kimberley in the Northern Cape over the weekend.

The safety of female healthcare workers has been cast into the spotlight as concerns are raised about inadequate security at hospitals.

A visibly shaken Dr Mandisa Kubeka said she was very scared.

Several doctors also voiced their concerns.
