South African engineers leaving the country: SAICE

The South African Institution of Civil Engineering is concerned the country is losing valuable skills in the form of engineers leaving South Africa.
Engineers are apparently leaving the country to use their skills abroad.
SAICE wants the government to put measures in place that will attract them back to South Africa.
Steven Kaplan, the acting CEO of SAICE, said there needs to be a much stronger engineering presence in the infrastructure departments of the government.
Kaplan said the government must deliver on the promises made about infrastructure development and stimulate the construction industry to retain local engineers and possibly entice those who have left to come back.
