Our client, a luxurious 5-star establishment is looking for a full time, certified Sommelier to join their highly skilled team.

Previous island experience is advantageous but not essential, but a good knowledge of South African and French wines is important.

The successful Sommelier will be responsible for leading a team of exceptional waitstaff and bartenders to deliver the best dining and drinks service experience in the world! The Sommelier will work closely with the Executive Chef and F&B Managers to design food and wine pairing, assist with the procurement of all beverages and be responsible for all training and management of the wait team.

The post will only suit adventurous, highly motivated and driven individuals; simply put, we need qualified self-starters. Create a dining experience that should meet “beyond expectation” standards, in line with the luxury brand. Essential Skills and Experience required:

Sommelier or Wine Steward Certification.
WSET Level 2 a must
Cape Wine Academy or Sommeliers Academy Qualification
Previous work experience in luxury properties or similar environment.
High-end hospitality experience and sound knowledge of South African and French wines
Strong leadership skills and excellent problem-solving skills.
Previous experience in a similar job OR a minimum of 4 years as a restaurant manager
