Applications for the Social Relief of Distress grant are open.
The Social Development Department said there will be more pay points and improved systems.
The government is partnering with retailers and banks to make pay points more accessible.
The first payments are expected to be made in the last week of August.
There were more than 10-million applications when the grant was offered previously.
Six million of those were approved.
