SA crime: Expert warns of dangers of oversharing on social media

Security specialist Michael Bolhuis is warning against sharing too much personal information on social media.
He has urged people to be extra vigilant because the criminals run a tight ship.
“The public must be very careful with how they present themselves, especially on social media. Flashing their cars and holiday homes,” Bolhuis said.
“You know, nowadays people are extremely careless, they put absolutely everything on social media.
“What they wear, how much they have… and the criminals of today pay attention to that. I would suggest that people refrain from putting any form of compromising information on social media.”
