Mondli Gungubele apologises for social grants debacle

Communications and Digital Technologies Minister Mondli Gungubele has apologised to the pensioners who struggled to receive their grants this month. He says they will make sure that the debacle doesn’t happen again.

“We wish to reiterate our sincerest apologies to all social grant beneficiaries who have encountered difficulties accessing their social grants this month,” he said.

Gungubele says Post Bank and Sassa officials are working hard to ensure pensioners receive their October payments on time.

“We will start with the October payments in less than two weeks. We have started preparing so that we do not encounter challenges that were experienced by our clients this month.”
