Skull and Bones Releases New Teaser

Ubisoft’s pirate game Skull and Bones has been going through a tumultuous time in terms of its development. The game was originally announced in 2017, and any headway that was made at the time had slowed down. Skull and Bones had reportedly restarted its development back in 2020 due to a number of setbacks and issues that were plaguing its progress. Earlier this year, Ubisoft announced the game would be on-track to release sometime in 2023.

The most recent update that fans received regarding the game was Skull and Bones’ Insider Program being a way for fans to sign up and play the game early. Fans who did sign up would be able to play early builds of the game, and give constructive feedback directly to Ubisoft in order to influence the direction it would take. One fan played these alpha builds posted a video online about how much the game has changed, though it has been since taken down.

This leaked video of Skull and Bones gave people some insight into what to expect, with a lot of it being focused on a new social hub world known as Sainte-Anne, a progression tracker system, as well as the basic gameplay. These are all aspects that haven’t been officially announced by the developers yet, where the game has shifted from a matchmaking multiplayer game to something more of a multiplayer open world looter-shooter with pirates. Shortly after this leaked video was taken down, Ubisoft posted a short teaser video on the game’s official Twitter account.
