A renowned Property Development & Construction company is looking for a Construction Buyer to join their team for a fixed-term contract period for 5 months from Aug 2019 to 13 Dec 2019 based at their offices in Bellville, Cape Town.

Very good compensation package on offer consisting of an excellent base salary negotiable (subject to qualifications and or experience) and internal career advancement opportunities.

This will be an add-on to the procurement department, because of the workload.

Position Responsibilities:

To support and assist the Procurement Manger as and when needed.
Residential Construction Procurement experience will be ideal but not beneficial.
The successful candidate will be fast paced and be able to work under high pressure.
The candidate should have an outstanding eye for detail
Good in excel
BuildSmart experience will be a winner but not compulsory.
General administrative duties
Process implementation, compliance and support
Purchasing & negotiation of best prices
Assist with tender processing and documentation
Supplier relationship management
Customer relations (Internal & external).

Qualifications and Experience:

Grade 12 and or relevant Qualification
Previous experience as a Buyer or similar position in a similar company will be beneficial
Computer literate
Strong written and verbal communication skills – English and Afrikaans
Own transport and valid driver’s license
Construction experience is a must!
Must be able to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
Must have vast material & supplier knowledge
Understand construction terminology
Practical thinker
Must be familiar with suppliers in the Northern Suburbs and surrounds.
Experience in purchasing/orders management will be advantageous
Computer literate – MS Word, Excel ( intermediate level )
High level of communication skills – English and Afrikaans (written & verbal)
Own transport and valid driver’s license
Preferably residing in Cape Town
