Shots have been fired at the home of Nanziwe Rulashe a senior ANC Amathole district municipality councillor and mayoral committee member.
Rulashe made headlines when a video emerged of her being dragged out of the district’s head offices in the Eastern Cape and assaulted. Political violence has come into sharp focus in recent weeks.
On Saturday, a funeral was held for eThekwini ANC councillor Minenhle Mkhize who was gunned down last week and, in another incident, IFP National Council member and Speaker of the AmaJuba District Municipality, Reginald Bhekumndeni Ndima was shot and killed in Newcastle.
