A career opportunity exists for a SHE Officer (SHE Assistant) to join the Snackworks Isando biscuit factory reporting directly to the SHE Manager. The purpose of the role will be to ensure compliance to all Health, Safety and Environment aspects at the site.
Maintains OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001 management system
Facilitates and track implementation of occupation hygiene risk assessments recommendations
Identify and advise on training needs analysis and recommendations to address competency shortfall.
Create and maintain SHE awareness through various communication mediums
Facilitates incident investigations and ensure corrective actions closure
Plan and schedule internal audits (Internal audit schedule)
Facilitate risk assessments (baseline and issue) and advise on effective corrective measures.
Conduct routine and non-routine SHE inspections and raise NCR for corrective actions
Manage SHE representative program
Ensure security services meet the agreed service levels
Manage contractors safety management and Chair contractors monthly meetings
Manage and monitor site Environmental Management program
Conduct SHE legal audits and advise on compliance thereof
Ensure regular emergency response exercises and drills are conducted to ensure the highest level of readiness in any emergency
Analyse SHE indicators and prepare monthly reports for the SHE Manager

At least 3 years’ experience as a SHE Officer within the FMCG / Manufacturing environment
Diploma / Degree in Occupational Health and Safety
SAMTRAC
SAMTRAC and SH&E/Risk Management
Working knowledge of OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001
Application of the Occupational Health & Environmental Act and the Occupational Injuries and Diseases Act
Sound knowledge of SHE legislations
Report writing
