Senzo Meyiwa murder accused says he was offered millions to implicate certain people in confession

One of the accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial has added to his version of events that he was offered millions to implicate certain people in his confession statement.

Lead investigator, Brigadier Bongani Gininda, returned to the witness stand on Thursday for cross-examination.

Five men are being tried for the murder of the Bafana Bafana captain over almost a decade ago.

Accused number two, Bongani Ntanzi, has put it on record for the first time that police apologized for assaulting him days after his arrest and offered him a bribe.

His lawyer, Thulani Mngomezulu, completed his cross-examination of Gininda but proceedings have halted for the State to acquire records from the accused’s first appearance at the Boksburg Magistrates Court.

This comes as the defence looks to prove that Ntanzi had distanced himself from the man believed to be his lawyer, Advocate Dominic Mjiyako.
