We have a positions available in Belville for a Semi-Skilled – Spot Welder. If you are available and meet all requirements, please send a updated CV, (please state clearly on CV work experience with aluminium/steel/stainless steel) copy of ID and certificates.

One month contract: Shift 6.00 am – 3.00 pm

Should our Client decide to hire you permanently night shifts will be 12.00 am – 12.00 pm ( Candidates must have own transport as there is no bus/taxi service to location when working night shifts)

Spot Welder– R40.00 per hour

Location: Belville

Start date: ASAP

Duration: One month – can become permanent

Nationality: SOUTH AFRICAN CANDIDATES ONLY

Main Duties:
The main function of the job will include, but are not limited to the following:

Spot welding of components

The Spot Welder is responsible for the following tasks

Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan the layout and procedures of the components to weld.

Set welding machine before start of production and ensure settings are according to job blueprints or drawings.

Weld components using semi-automatic welding equipment.

Move finished assemblies to appropriate area.

Reach daily production target and report to the Team Leader if target is not met.

Perform daily housekeeping tasks.

To assemble various sized bread pans and or bakeware into a strap using a spot welder.

Quality of Work
The Spot Welder is responsible for the following quality control measures

Perform random tests to ensure the accuracy and strength of the weld.

Inspect parts with precision and measuring tools.

Report quality issues that might occur during the shift to the Team Leader.

Defective units must be removed and placed into a designated bin.

Maintain and clean machines before and after each shift.

Ensure safety standards are met
The Spot Welder is responsible for the following safety measures

Always wear his/her protective clothing including goggles, gloves and welding apron.

Ensure the welding machine is set to the foot pedal mode.

If there is an accident report immediately to the First Aider.

Shut down the machine and report any other safety concerns immediately to the Team Leader.

Knowledge & Experience
Experience of working in a factory environment is essential

Basic mechanical ability

Ability to learn all job functions in the spot welding department within 3 months – if employed permanent

Ability to identify all components needed to complete assemblies

Core Competencies

Experience with steel, aluminium and/or stainless steel required

Experience with CNC press breaks, CNC folding machines and automatic saws

Ability to lift heavy items up to 25kg consistently required.

Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods

Ability to identify and measure material

Ability to produce quality products consistently

Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form

Willingness to learn and work to the best of his/her abilities as well as dependable work ethic

Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs and uses

Ability to read blueprints, drawings, callipers, tape measures and angle gauges
