Ekurhuleni residents celebrate after fake sangoma caught red-handed in action with a woman

Gatvol residents made a plan to catch fake izangoma scamming them out of their houses.

A resident of Buhle Park in Ekurhuleni set her plan in action by going to consult.

She told the publication the sangoma didn’t waste any time and immediately asked her if she owned a house.

“He told me I didn’t belong in Buhle Park. He told me I had to sell my house as it was possessed by demons.”

The sangoma told the woman to buy sugar, which was going to be turned into money to enable her to buy the house of her dreams.

The sangoma gave her muthi to bath with.

The woman bought the sugar but didn’t bath with the muthi. Residents instead called the cops and on Friday when the woman had her appointment the sangoma was bust.

The man is allegedly a member of a syndicate that talked unsuspecting residents into selling their houses and fled with the cash.

“We hope he’ll point out other scammers who’re involved,” said a resident.

One victim told the publication they were praying to get their money back.

She said: “What happened to me is a shame. These people use muthi and they get you to do stupid things, and you’ll only come to your senses after they scam you.”

She said more than six people had lost their houses to these scammers.

The suspect was arrested by Elsburg cops and a fraud case was opened.

He’s already appeared in court and is expected to make a second appearance soon.
