JOB OBJECTIVE(S)

Maintain, develop and grow sales revenue in accordance with set targets through the effective management of all JHB sales teams and the sales activities of branches/subco’s and business partners;
Coordinate communication and strategic action between Head Office and branches/subco’s and business
partners to ensure effective sales operations.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

Essential: Matric with Math;
Preferred: Tertiary qualification from a reputable institution with commerce courses completed such as Sales,
Marketing or Business Management.
Minimum 5years experience in sales and sales management in the industrial/earthmoving/ automotive/mining
industry;
Proven experience in successfully dealing with Cross Border companies and freight distribution

INTERPERSONAL SKILLS-COMPETENCY

Fully computer literate; Strong communication skills (verbal and written); Comprehensive Product knowledge
(overall and specific commodities)
Must know and understand the industry
High level of computer literacy;
SAP and Pastel or similar accounting packages – proficiency
Full proficiency in TMS;
Excellent communication skills required;
Excellent admin skills and understanding required

MAIN TASKS / RESPONSIBILITIES

Create, maintain and develop open and collaborative relationships between Sales and other departments and the management team;
Development of a Large Customer Base as per scorecard;
Responsible to increase the Quote Order Ratio as per scorecard;
Ensure compliance with the OHSA Act and ISO9001:2015 and all other internal processes in terms of the Sales Division;
Manage JHB Sales staff as per scorecard; and
Manage accounts payable/debts recoverable in conjunction with the Credit Control department, with the specific objective to ensure collection whilst preserving customer relationships.
The abovementioned responsibilities may be set out in more detail, as follows:
Create and implement effective direct sales strategies and lead sales personnel (intrinsic teams and extrinsic sales staff) toward achievement of sales objectives.
Enforce staff professionalism: deadlines, procedures, dress code, absences and reports.
Collect and review call reports, monitor daily calls, appointments and time management.
Teach sales teams to prepare for appointments, visits and proposals.
Develop presentations and present the company to visitors.
Build and maintain relationships with key accounts, customer decision makers or business owners.
Ensure integrity of sales and marketing information on the TMS through random checks.
Set and monitor monthly, quarterly and yearly sales targets and activities of teams.
Set ad hoc incentives which are directly related to increase sales on a specific commodity or to increase sales to a specific customer or group.
Keep Marketing Co coordinator advised of any requirements or problems.
Ensure sales teams compliance with company’s procedures and communication methods.
Develop competencies and processes required to create an effective and efficient sales organization.
Provide leadership through effective communication of vision, active coaching and development while comparing sales results to goals and taking appropriate intervening action to correct when necessary.
Provide sales management and incentive planning.
Assist with quotes where special pricing or negotiation is needed.
Ensure effective hiring, orientation, training, development and retention of sales staff.
Provide supervision through field visits, observations and measurement of results to include performance appraisals and salary reviews.
Ad hoc communication with customers to ascertain satisfaction.
Report to top management on progress of specific goals and sales activities.Manage to meet/exceed monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets.
Partner Directors/branches and Business partners in the development of key customers.Establish effective relationships and collaborations with other departments to address key business issues and opportunities.
Maintain competitive knowledge to create and adjust sales strategies.
Monitor and report on the efficient overseas emergency purchases and freight.
Based in JHB,KZN, Steelpoort and Rustenburg branch, will be required to visit customers and branches from time to time;
Flexible working hours; high-pressure environment.
