Massive operations in Saldanha Bay as search for Joshlin Smith continues

Rainy weather conditions have not deterred various units from continuing the search for Joshlin Smith in Saldanha Bay where a massive operation is underway to find the missing six-year-old.
Joshlin was in the care of her mother’s boyfriend, Jacquin Appollis when she disappeared from her family home in Middelpos fourteen days ago.
Saldanha Bay Mayor Andre Truter said the search yielded some results over the weekend when blood-stained clothing and a knife were found in an open field near Middelpos.
Truter said the blood-stained clothing and the knife have been taken for forensic testing while more than 600 officers from the SAPS, the SA Navy, the Saldanha Bay Municipality, and the City of Cape Town continue the search for Joshlin.
“Today there’s a massive, massive search – they are doing a coordinated search today – very well planned, running really well – I’m very pleased with what I see.”
Mayco member for Safety and Security, JP Smith said the city has also sent 200 law enforcement cadets to help with the ongoing search for Joshlin.
