Dineo Ranaka is the official host of the SAFTAs 14th edition

Television presenter and radio DJ Dineo Ranaka, is the official host of the 14th edition of the South African Film and Television Awards (SAFTAs). The awards ceremony will be hosted live on Twitter this Wednesday, in line with the countrywide lockdown and social distancing requirements. This follows the government’s announcement that all public gatherings have been banned as the country fights the spread of the coronavirus.
The National Film and Video Foundation(NFVF) revealed the news on Twitter this past weekend. The prestigious awards were set to take place on 27-28 March at the Sandton Convention Centre, but due to the outbreak of the Covid-19, winners will be announced on Twitter. Tweeps reacted to the announcement and expressed their shock as they were looking forward to the awards taking place after the lockdown period.
