Cyril Ramaphosa visits SADC troops

President Cyril Ramaphosa has visited troops deployed in Mozambique as part of the SADC mission.

Ramaphosa and Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi laid wreaths at the Mueda Heroes Acre.

It’s the 53rd commemoration of the assassination of the Mozambique Liberation Front founder, Dr Eduardo Mondlane.

The president’s visit aims to strengthen economic, political, cultural, and social relations between the two countries.

Mozambique is facing an insurgency in the north of the country, in which thousands have died and tens of thousands have been displaced.

South Africa has deployed over a thousand troops in Cabo Delgado.
