The government does not agree with the recent decisions for South African Airways (SAA) by business rescue practitioners. That is the word from President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“We are not in agreement with what the rescue practitioners have come up with, that domestic flights should be cancelled.”
Ramaphosa says a Cabinet Minister will make an announcement this afternoon about the cancelling of routes.
SAA announced it will cut several local and international routes to save money.
Rescue plans are set to be presented to creditors in late February.
Ramaphosa was speaking at the Waterkloof Airforce Base ahead of his departure to the Africa Union Summit.
