Gauteng: At 06H52 Tuesday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a collision on Doreen Road in Poortview AH Roodepoort.
Reports from the scene indicate that a mini-bus taxi and five other vehicles were involved in a collision.
When medics arrived on the scene they found multiple patients on the road with many being school children.
Two adults were found trapped in the taxi and were treated on the scene by Paramedics while the fire and rescue services used hydraulic tools to free them.
All Sixteen patients had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate and were treated on scene before being transported by various ambulance services to the hospital for further assessment.
Circumstances leading up to the collision will be investigated by the relevant authorities.
