Ronald Lamola hails victory for international law on ICJ genocide decision

International law is the winner, following the ICJ decision against Israel.

That’s the view of Justice Minister Ronald Lamola, who’s urging Israel to respect Friday’s preliminary ruling, at The Hague.

The publication’s Moloko Moloto spoke to Lamola on the sidelines of the ANC NEC meeting in Boksburg.

The ICJ has concluded that Israel has committed some of the acts alleged by South Africa.

ICJ president, Judge Joan Donoghue said the court has found that there is a prima facie case of genocide.

It has ordered Israel to take all measures within its power to prevent additional killing in Gaza.

That is in accordance with its Genocide Convention responsibilities.

The court called for the unconditional release of all hostages.
