Stage 2 rolling blackouts will continue until 5am on Monday.
Eskom CEO André de Ruyter provided a status update on the system on Thursday morning.
“There are plans in place to return more units to service. So, at this point in time, our recovery is as anticipated,” he said.
“However, we have to point out that there is still the possibility that we may lose further units.
“Therefore, at this point in time, our guidance remains that we will maintain Stage 2 load-shedding until 5 o’clock on Monday morning.”
