Rihanna First Female To Reach 1 Billion Streams On Spotify

Rihanna has become the first female artist to have 10 songs reach a billion streams on Spotify, despite not having a new album out — and she’s all-too-gleeful to boast about her success. Hypebeast was one of the first to reveal the accomplishment, pointing out that the Bajan beauty accomplished this impossible feat even though she hasn’t dropped a new album since 2016’s ANTI.

In response, RiRi took to Instagram on Friday (June 30) to celebrate. “Bad Gal Billi… with no new album…lemme talk my shit,” she wrote, adding an emoji of the Barbados flag for added effect.

Nicki Minaj, a fan and longtime friend of the singer, chimed in with some bars of her own in the comments section. “Not bad gal billi poppin shit like a wheelie/ I mean Poppin like a pilly/ Like really/ Man down cuz she making a Killy!!!/ SILLY!/ Bout to be pushin’ out a new kid like Gillie/ Caribbean girls run it & AWWLLL these b*tches know da dill.”

The Queens rapper added “Okay bars” and the hashtag: “babydaddytellmeIGOTprettyeyes.”

This is just the latest huge accomplishment by the billionaire and soon-to-be mother-of-two. Last month, she beat out Beyoncé, Madonna, and even Taylor Swift for the title of America’s Richest Self-Made musician.

Forbes released its annual self-made list which honored female entrepreneurs, executives, and entertainers. Rihanna, who came in 20th overall, is the richest self-made female musician in the United States. According to the outlet, RiRi has a net worth of $ 1.4 billion and is the only billionaire on the musician’s list.

Taylor Swift, who came in 40th overall, is America’s second-richest self-made female musician, with a net worth of $ 740 million. Madonna (45th overall) is the third-richest, with a net worth of $ 580 million; and Beyoncé (48th overall) is the fourth-richest, with a net worth of $ 540 million.

Other musicians on the list included Celine Dion, Dolly Parton, and Barbra Streisand.

It’s no surprise that Rihanna is at the top of Forbes‘ list of self-made women musicians in the United States. Back in July 2022, she became the youngest billionaire to make the Forbes list at the age of 34, beating out Kylie Jenner’s previously-held record (which was later revealed by the outlet to be a fraudulent claim).
