Our client in the telecoms industry is looking for an Analyst: Reporting and Analysis
The Analyst: Reporting & Analysis is part of the Finance, Service Delivery function at the SSH. The position will be responsible to support the Reporting and Analysis Manager at the SSH, supporting the project reporting and dashboard activities for Company Operating Companies (Opco’s). The Analyst: Reporting and Analysis will report to the Manager: Reporting and Analysis. The position will interface with the Centres of Excellence (CoE), Opco, and Service Delivery function at the SSH (not limited to) via Oracle workflows and non-Oracle workflows in order to ensure effective and efficient operations
Hyperion Reporting –
Monthly reporting into the Hyperion consolidation tool based on the Operation’s Trial balances and ensuring that the balance sheet, Income statement and Cash flow are correct.
Clearing of Validations in the system and explanations of any variances to the
Group Hyperion reporting team.
Support for balance submitted and creation of supporting schedules and supporting evidence for auditors.
Responsible with the identification and correction of any mapping issues found.
Performance of reconciliations for the trail balance to the Hyperion information.
Engagement and support with operations on the presentation of financial disclosure requirements.
Project Analysis and Reporting Reporting/Analysis:- –
Review month-end and annual reports and provide feedback
Review the variance analysis performed and provide feedback to Reporting Manager on the deviation interpreted as part of the reports prepared
Conceptualize the required reporting documents for dashboards to be used for reporting and analysis purposes
Review the dashboards developed and provide feedback in the form of suggestions/ changes to the same
Obtain requirements from the operations, understand and define reporting required to meet the requirements defined. – Liaise with manager on a regular basis and understand changes/improvements in the reporting requirements for SSH
Provide input and collate all necessary documentation in a presentable manner to enhance departmental reporting requirements.
This may entail interaction and influencing of other departments, OpCos and Group
Project reporting: –
Provide insights to the manager to write project reports and deadlines
Provide support to the reporting and analysis manager in driving the entire reporting process within the SSH
Provide input in preparing custom report format for project dashboard
Follow up with the administrator to ensure that key data entry details such as reporting by task, structure, time, financial performance, effort, cost, earned value, billability .etc. are captured
Review the reports generated by the administrator to check whether the new / customized reports conform to the requirements.
Ensure completeness, accuracy and relevance of all reporting presented.
Continuously seek to improve the reports prepared
ADHOC – Any additional analysis & reporting requirements or tasks assigned by a manager
Ensure that reports containing actual and budgeted data have been compiled as per requirements on OBIEE. In the process, ensure that at least the relevant reports, are present as applicable
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or equivalent
2 – 4 years relevant work experience in Reporting and analysis
Experience in continuous improvement through the implementation of best practices (Reporting)
Experience in reporting leading practices and trends advantageous
Hyperion Training would be beneficial
ACCA or relevant equivalent preferable
OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
General Experience: – -Hyperion: load files and basic system understanding – Experience in continuous process improvement – Experience in a Shared Services Center / Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) environment (Preferable) – Project analysis and reporting experience – Understand systems such as Hyperion, OBIEE and Oracle
Technical Experience:- – Generally Accepted Accounting Principle (GAAP) – International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) – ERP (Oracle), MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) – Financial Statement presentation. Apply Now
