Reopening of schools: Dates announced for other grades

Basic Education Minister, Angie Motshekga, has released the dates for all grades to go back to school. Previously she announced that Grade 7 and 12 pupils will start on Monday. The Minister of Basic Education, Angie Motshega has gazetted regulations for the re-opening of schools and early childhood development.

They will be followed by early childhood development centres, and grades R, 3, 6,10, and 11 on the 6th of July. On August 3, a month after the initial back-to-school date, grades 4, 5, 8 and 9 pupils will return to school. Meanwhile, some teachers union, students, and pupils association still say schools are not ready to accept pupils.
