Here’s how you can safely remove Intsumpa (skin tags)

Skin tags are small skin growths that appear mostly on your face, neck or other parts of your body and are usually harmless and not painful. Most skin tags don’t require treatment.

If a skin tag is irritated or its appearance is bothersome, a doctor can safely remove it.

Some people use home remedies to remove them and in this article we will share some of them.

Skin expert Kemunto Mokaya, a board-certified dermatologist, spoke to Medical News Today about the safest and most effective ways to remove skin tags at home.

Although these are considered safe, it is good to consult with your doctor before you go ahead.

1. Use Skin Tag Removal Bands and Patches

A skin tag removal band cuts off the supply of blood to the base of the skin tag and without a supply of blood, the cells die, and the tag falls away.

2. Cutting or Clipping

Only do this if a health professional has approved it. While this is a quick and easy-to-do method, it is painful and you might end up with an infection, so proceed with caution and follow the rules.

3. Removal Creams

Dr Mokaya recommends avoiding products that contain salicylic acid and tea tree oil because these ingredients can irritate the skin or cause contact dermatitis. According to the labelling on some of these products, the skin tag should fall off within 2–3 weeks.
