Body parts suspect to remain in custody

A 26-year-old man who was arrested in Protea Glen in Soweto after body parts were found in his fridge, is being questioned by police.
This after the gruesome discovery was made by his new girlfriend on Saturday.
The suspect was rushed to the hospital after attempting to take his life but has since been discharged.
The identity of the victim is still unknown.
Gauteng SAPS spokesperson Brenda Muridili said Flavia Hlabangwane has appeared in court on a charge of murder.
“He has been remanded in custody and he will be appearing again on 22 November 2021,” she said.
“The discovered body parts have been sent to the forensic science laboratory for identification.
“The case is now being investigated by the provincial occult-related crimes investigation team and the accused is being profiled.”
