Jacob Zuma seeks to appeal recusal ruling

Former president Jacob Zuma will appeal the judgment that dismissed his plea to have prosecutor Billy Downer recused.

Judge Piet Koen dismissed the former president’s special plea in October.

The former president faces some 16 counts of fraud, corruption, racketeering, and money laundering in connection with the arms deal.

The matter is set to resume on 11 April 2022.
