Job Purpose:

Implementation and maintenance of practice procedures relating to customer service, reception, sales, and administration. Assisting the optometrist and focusing at all times on fulfilling the commitment of the practice to providing service excellence to patients. Ensuring that all business is conducted in accordance with the Company’s values, Policies, and Procedures.

Customer focus: Dedicated to meeting the expectations and requirements of customers; obtain first-hand customer information and uses it for improvements in service; establish and maintain effective relationships with customers and gain their trust and respect.Exceptional customer communication skills.

Results Orientated: Accepts responsibility for tasks and decisions; sets clear objectives and measures for self; be bottom-line orientated; is self-motivated.

Attention to detail: Completes reports, orders, correspondence, and other documentation accurately. Checks all work for errors before dispatch.

Teamwork: Works reliably to achieve team goals; cooperates with team members to resolve problems and achieve goals; Addresses conflict in a cooperative and responsible manner; shares information & supports team members by encouraging participation and listening to others’ ideas.

Computer literacy: General knowledge of computers and Windows-based software. Working knowledge of Outlook / Outlook Express. Having the ability to learn new programs.

Telephone Etiquette: Exceptional telephone communication skills. Friendly demeanor. Fluent in English and Afrikaans (understand and speak).

Professional Appearance: Proper groomingand professional appearance are important.

Transport: Need own transport.

Experience: Experience in optometry, medical or professional reception industry will be an advantage.
