Babes Wodumo speaks on her reality series, Uthando Lodumo & how different it has been without Mampintsha

Popular Mzansi Gqom artist and choreographer, Babes Wodumo has shared what viewers can expect on her reality TV show, Uthando Lodumo, which is set to return for a third season soon. After losing her husband, Mandla “Mampintsha” Maphumulo, the Ggom queen told Zimoja that life has been difficult, but the show must go on.

“It feels great to be getting back into the swing of things again. I had my time to grieve properly, so I’m just so excited,” she said.

The Big Nuz group member lost his life in December last year after suffering a stroke. The couple share a son together, Hlelolenkosi “Sponge” Maphumulo.

“It’s been different without my Mampintsha. I had to learn to make decisions on my own. Before I used to make decisions with Mampintsha, so I’m doing everything on my own with the help of my team, but all is well,” she added.

Babes says fans of Uthando Lodumo, should expect more drama.

“A lot about how my life has been after the passing of my husband, my struggles and challenges of being a single mom having to wear my queen crown with pride and finding my feet.”

In July, Babes took to her Instagram to share that she is in studio and fans should brace themselves for more music.

This followed shortly after IsiZulu newspaper Isolezwe reported that she is critically ill.

The publication reported, at the time, that its sources revealed that Babes was in and out of hospital due to an undisclosed. Sources claimed that Babes was severely ill and suffers from shortness of breath.

Another source claimed that her husband Mampitsha’s death had taken its toll on her.

However, Babes’ sister and manager Nondumiso Simelane denied the reports, saying that the Wololo hitmaker was in good health.

“[Babes Wodumo] is in great health. Maybe her silence on social media is why they are assuming she is not well. She is currently busy with two albums, her own and Mampintshas,” Nondumiso said.
