DA’s Helen Zille refutes racism claims

The Democratic Alliance Federal Chairperson Helen Zille has denied she is racist.

The party suspended its former Eastern Cape leader, Nqaba Bhanga after he publicly accused Zille of racism.

Nqaba quit his leadership position in January.

Meanwhile, the Western Cape, under the leadership of the Democratic Alliance, is not letting up in its quest for independence from the national government.

To date, the DA has requested control of the province’s rail system, energy, and policing.

It tabled a Provincial Powers Bill in May, to much criticism from the opposition.
