Rachel Kolisi’s guide to reaching your fitness goals

Rachel Kolisi wants you to be the best version of yourself. The mom-of-two has teamed up with trainer Tammy Rawstron to create a guide that will help women achieve their fitness goals. Rachel, who is the wife of Springbok player Siya Kolisi, recently launched a transformation guide called ‘Rise’ – a five-week programme aiming to “challenge and transform” women. Rachel and Tammy hope to create a community that “empowers” through fitness.

“@bods_bytam and I ignited a passion in each other for fitness and women which we wanted to make available to you. We are excited to share our health journey with you. A journey that empowered us in many ways, and the lessons we learnt along the way. Find your Fire. Rise,” Rachel wrote on Instagram

Apart from their fitness guide, which retails for R399, Rachel and Tammy will be hosting Rise workshops which include an empowering workout and motivational talk
Tammy says their Rise initiative will also give back to the community.

“We have also attached a good cause to each of our projects to help other women in need.

“We work closely with young women who have been abandoned and asked to leave their homes or orphanages after matriculating or turning 18,” says Rachel, who holds a degree in events management.

Get a fitness buddy
A lot of women struggle to stick to their fitness goals because they don’t have someone encouraging them along the way. It’s easy to give up when you only answer to yourself! But asking a friend or family member to join you on your journey will help keep you (and them) motivated.

Rachel is lucky enough to have a trainer, but she also occasionally works out with her husband, Siya. Working out with her friend and trainer Tammy Rawstron is one of the reasons Rachel decided to create a fitness programme that will help inspire other women.
Don’t focus too much on the scale
Rachel has become somewhat of a fitness junkie but she doesn’t obsess too much about her weight. Watching the scale can sometimes discourage you from pushing towards your goals. Only get on a scale when you need to.

“I avoid scales at all costs. Stepped on one today for Tam (she’s been measuring my progress) 13kgs down from where I was when I started training. Can’t actually believe it,” Rachel wrote on social media.
