Tshwane metro says pump installation at Bronkhorstspruit will end water outage soon

Tshwane residents are being urged to be patient while water systems recover following a prolonged outage.

The metro said its technicians have completed the installation of a pump at the Bronkhorstspruit Water Treatment Plant.

However, officials said it would take a few days for the system to fully recover in all regions.

Last week, residents took to the streets to voice their frustration over the water outage.

City spokesperson Selby Bokaba said water tankers would still be sent to affected areas.

“The plant began pumping at full capacity, which is a sign of good news for the residents of Bronkhorstspruit and surrounding areas, who had endured weeks of water outages due to a breakdown of a pump at the plant.”
