Former State Security Minister Ayanda Dlodlo says as things stand, the government can’t protect whistleblowers because it does not have the manpower to do so.
On Thursday, Minister in the Presidency Mondli Gungubele the murder of senior Gauteng health department official, Babita Deokaran, has revealed cracks in the government’s protection system.
Deokaran was gunned down outside her Joburg home last week.
She was helping the Special Investigating Unit with its probe into PPE corruption in the province.
