The case against self-proclaimed Prophet Shepherd Bushiri and his wife Mary has been postponed to Friday. Magistrate Thandi Thelede said she’s unavailable on the other days of this week.
Magistrate Thelede noted with concern that there were a large number of people outside on Monday who were not social distancing.
She stated she cannot risk having large crowds outside without sufficient time to attend to the matter.
The couple and a third-accused, Landiwe Ntlokoane, are facing charges of fraud, theft and money laundering of over R100-million.
Last week, Mary Bushiri was arrested by the Hawks while her husband and Ntlokoane handed themselves over. The accused will remain in custody until Friday.
