It was only once the concert had moved from the outside stage on a beautifully warm day to inside the Zone 6 Venue that the party really started. DJ 1D was on the decks and the venue was packed. After all, tickets had sold out before doors even opened.
But then something unexpected happened. 1D played PRO’s mammoth hit, “Soweto,” and as it ended, the crowd would not let it go. They kept singing the chorus, a cappella, and the entire venue was in unison. It was definitely a goosebump moment. One of many.

Rikky Ricky was also present at the concert:
Even the heavily pregnant Jessica Nkosi wanted to be present at the show, read the sweet message she had for the rapper: Really would have loved to attend #ProkidTributeConcert but I really won’t be able to make it.
So I bought two double tickets. Two of you will get them and you can bring partners and you must either live in Soweto or be able to get yourself there and home after the show. Just tell me what you loved most about him or how he impacted your life… •
I’ll go first…… 🤗🤗🤗 So…… • The one and only time I met him was at a restaurant my older sister and I walked in, I didn’t even front I went straight to him without even thinking twice and said hi 🙈🙈🙈 ( yes I did that) and he in return didn’t even act like he didn’t know me. Told me he loves Isibaya and my character. He and his manager then gave my sister and I some #DankieSan merchandise!!! I was so happy that day…. I couldn’t believe theeeeeeee Prokid, like THEEEEEEEEE Prokid knew who I was. I mean he was a legend and superstar yet so authentic. He was even sweet to my older sister, he made sure he knew her name.
I loved his humility and just a way to be able to communicate with those who loved him and made the time.
He taught me so much that day, to love, make time for, value all those who support and love me. And to remain true to who I am and be unapologetic about it. That will always resonate with people. #RIPProkid #ProkidTributeConcert
