PRODUCT TECHNOLOGIST (INFANTSWEAR)
This position reports to the General Manager of Product Technology.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE –
To provide technical expertise to the Buying team and suppliers to consistently improve the quality of the Girlswear merchandise and optimize customer satisfaction
Reviewing existing and developing new standards and specification
Compiling and issuing standards and product specifications
To assess products against Company product specifications in accordance with the critical path
To build and maintain relationships with all relevant stakeholders to meet Company objectives

has a sound knowledge and understanding of clothing manufacturing processes/ together with proven experience in pattern making/ grading fit and measuring requirements
QUALIFICATIONS & LEVEL OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED –
Grade 12 certificate – this is a minimum requirement
Relevant qualificationin clothing management or fashion design/ preferably with the following subjects –
ü Product design
ü Manufacturing technology
ü Garment construction and engineering
ü Pattern making
ü Grading
ü Textiles (Fibres & Yarns)
ü Technical Drawing
Certificate in Fibres and Fabric
3-5 years of relevant experience in a clothing manufacturing environment (preferably in a sample room/ on a production floor) AND/OR
3-5 years of clothing retail experience in product technology (technical knowledge and experience) will be highly advantageous)
Working experience on relevant Computer programs (Word/ Excel/ Powerpoint and Corel Draw)
Exposure to dyeing/ printing/ pressing/ ironing/ fusing and finishing processes
Experience in product development
