Underberg Superspar has been established for 25 years and has built a great reputation, both nationally and in the local area. We are looking for a full-time Produce Supervisor to work approximately 45 hours a week. Applicants must be prepared to work shifts and public holidays.
Job Title: Produce Supervisor
Tasks and duties will include:
Meet and floor walk with the fresh department manager
Hold planning meetings with staff
Ensure the department is ready for store opening
Sufficient staffing and production for analyzed sales’ trends
All display fridges and equipment is clean and in a good state of repair
Temperatures of the fridges is correct and logged at least twice a day
Ensure department cleaning schedules are followed
Waste, interdepartmental transfers, and shrinkage is managed and correctly recorded
Analyze the departments ranking report, GP%, and ratio
Ensure top sellers are in stock
Check quality and identify short-dated expiring stock
Out of stocks are managed and orders are placed in time
Promotion commitments are honoured and point of sale is displayed
Ensure all staff is dressed in correct SPAR uniform and protective clothing with name badge
Back of house management clean and tidy
Ensure full seasonal range is available
Receive all produce deliveries with the receiving manager to ensure quality and quantity
Check that the scales and front end are updated with the correct prices
Ensure the correct seasonal merchandising principles are followed
Advance planning for upcoming events
Total customer satisfaction following the in-store customer service programme
The following will be to your advantage:
Previous experience in a retail / Produce environment
Bilingual (English and Zulu)
