The IFP has welcomed Prince Misuzulu’s nomination for the new Zulu King.
The party says the wisdom of late regent, Queen Mantfombi Dlamini Zulu, was evident again. Her will was read out last night and she named Prince Misuzulu as successor.
IFP President Velenkosini Hlabisa says he is looking forward to the Prince’s coronation. He also paid tribute to traditional Prime Minister of the Amazulu nation Prince Mangosuthu Buthelezi for his role in securing peace and continuity.
Meanwhile, before the coronation of the new Zulu king, a cleansing ceremony has to take place.
All members of the royal family will have to be cleansed, including the King’s siblings. AmaZulu Queen Regent picked her son to succeed King Goodwill Zwelithini. This was revealed in her will, read out Friday night.
It is expected that the prince’s marriage is also pre-arranged.
Chaos broke out minutes after Prince Misuzulu’s nomination at the KwaKhangelamankange Royal Palace in KwaNongoma.
