Pressure mounts for Fees Must Fall activist Kanya Cekeshe’s release

Pressure from civil society to have FeesMustFall activist Kanya Cekeshe released is mounting.

University of Cape Town and University of Western Cape students have joined other institutions demanding his release.

On Friday, they marched to Parliament to demand President Cyril Ramaphosa grant Cekeshe presidential pardon. Cekeshe is currently serving an 8-year jail term for setting a police van alight.
