South Africa president Cyril Ramaphosa is in Amanzimtoti, KwaZulu-Natal to assess the extent of the damage caused by the floods over the past weekend.
He has thanked all those involved in the search and rescue operations in all the affected areas.
51 people have been confirmed dead following the heavy rains that hit parts of KwaZulu Natal.
It’s reported that more bodies have been discovered under the rubble, as rescue operations continued on Tuesday.
Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs MEC Nomusa Dube-Ncube expressed her condolences to the families.
