President Cyril Ramaphosa and other ANC top brass are in Kimberley on Wednesday, preparing for the party’s 108th birthday celebrations.
ANC leaders are confident they can compel South Africans to believe things will get better.
Ramaphosa is expected to deliver the January 8 statement on Saturday.
