Gauteng: At 09H04 Thursday morning Netcare 911 responded to reports of a shooting on Jacaranda Street Centurion.
Reports from the scene indicate that a shooting had broken out between suspects and police.
Two police officers had been shot, one officer sustained critical injuries after being shot in the face and a second had sustained serious injuries after being shot in the lower limb.
Both patients were treated on scene by medics from multiple services.
Due to the nature of both the patients injuries Netcare 911 activated two helicopter air ambulances to airlift the policemen to a specialist facility.
Two suspects had been killed in the shootout and another two suspects had been transport by private ambulances to hospital for further care.
