Prayers pour in for legendary musician PJ Powers

Speedy recovery messages are pouring in for veteran musician, PJ Powers.

On Thursday, through her Twitter account, she announced that she was at Christiaan Barnard Hospital and that she was not happy about something.

Without giving much detail, she wrote: “If you find yourself @Netcare_Limited @christiaanBarnard hospital like I have, be aware that it is a circus over the weekends, and mighty aggressive!”

To which Netcare responded and said: “Hi @PJPowers1. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention. Please DM us with details about what occurred, your contact details, so we may investigate and give you feedback.”

But on Monday, the Jabulani hitmaker disclosed that she was free from Covid-19 but diagnosed with pneumonia.

Hi everyone. If I’ve been a little quiet lately it’s because I was checked into Christiaan Barnard Memorial Hospital on Friday, not getting enough oxygen. And so here I am with a fabulous cup of coffee and my life-saving oxygen. The verdict is pneumonia… I tested negative to Covid, thank you God,” she wrote.

The post was accompanied by a picture of herself lying in a hospital bed, still connected to an oxygen machine.

Her post was soon flooded with messages as her friends and colleagues wished her a speedy recovery.

Gospel artist Deborah Fraser wrote: “Please get better my Angel. I will keep on praying for you and all the people who are not OK. Those who are in hospitals who do not have hope anymore, please take care of yourself. We all going to be OK. In the name of Jesus Christ. Please Lord keep on restoring us from the top of our heads to the bottom of our feet… Amen.”

William Loxton wrote: “Wishing you a speedy recovery! We look forward to tons more of your beautiful music.”

Another Facebook user Vee Ashlin offered to give medical support.

She wrote: “Hi PJ, thank you for sharing your news and sorry to hear it. You can contact me direct for more private medical support. Regards Vee (Ladies Rally).”

Steve Van Schaik said: “I am so glad you are in the right place and surrounded by people who love and care for you. Keep shining PJ! You are our inspiration and you give us reason and courage to keep going no matter what! Get well soon.”
