Pitso Mosimane insists he won’t be deterred by off-field issues

Mamelodi Sundowns coach Pitso Mosimane insists he won’t be deterred by off-field issues as the Brazilians set their sights on winning 10 league championships in the PSL era.

Mosimane currently faces an assault charge after getting into an altercation with a security guard after a match with AmaZulu at King Zwelithini Stadium in Umlazi on September 16.

The former Bafana Bafana boss, who also recently bemoaned refereeing decisions in games with Bidvest Wits, Cape Town City and Golden Arrows, is due to appear before the PSL DC to account for the incident in Durban.

Amid his legal challenges, Mosimane reiterated his commitment to guiding the record eight-time PSL champions to further success.  “But you have to get rid of me because I am always a problem, a thorn in the flesh,” Mosimane said.

“Other teams must win, we are about to go to 10 titles, the gap is getting bigger. “They have to stop me. But I am here, it’s a long way to go. “As long as I am still in football, we are gonna fight for the league.

“I am gonna be there until I retire.” He added: “I have already received a letter within five days … letter to Pitso, five days.

“For me it’s five days. There were people burning the stadium [during the Kaizer Chiefs fan riot at Moses Mabhida Stadium in April], how long did it take?”
