A pilot has died after his helicopter crashed near Eshowe, KwaZulu-Natal, on Thursday. Despite efforts from local community members to save him from the blaze, the man was declared dead by paramedics when they arrived on the scene. A Lenmed1, specialised air ambulance, was used to respond to the remote location.
According to a statement released by IPSS Paul Herbst Rescue, it is believed that the aircraft was conducting a crop spraying when it allegedly struck powerlines.
