Venita & Jordan celebrate 60th wedding anniversary #OurPerfectWedding

It took more than a few love letters to convince Venita to date Jordan, but the day they finally spoke, she knew there and then that he was the man she’d spend the rest of her life with.

The couple met in the 1950s. Jordan and his brother were standing on the street one day, when his brother spotted Venita getting her hair done at her house. Jordan’s brother told Jordan to “check her out”, and Jordan was interested the minute he laid eyes on her.

He wrote her a letter but a week passed and Venita still hadn’t responded to it. Following week, he wrote another letter, still no response. This carried on for like three weeks. She didn’t know who had written those letters, for she had never met him before.

One day, they happened to meet on the street and Jordan asked her why she hadn’t responded to them and what her response was. Venita agreed to start dating him that day. She says it was love at first sight.

They’d sit and talk for hours on end back then and not even feel the need to get food, something to drink etc. Jordan says they lived on love. They’ve been together for 63 years and tonight, they celebrate their 60^th wedding anniversary.
